Artists, musicians and politicians, including Karel Schwarzenberg, the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs, were amongst the guests who graced the gala opening of Through My Window at the Great Hall of the National Gallery at Veletržní Palace in the Czech Republic’s capital city of Prague. This was no small event since it was the first time the Great Hall had been used for a solo exhibition by a living artist since the 1928 solo exhibition of Alphonse Mucha, the Czech Republic’s national icon.

The gala opening was preceded by a press conference, and coverage in the media included an array of newspaper, radio and television reports. A special viewing of the exhibition was arranged for Czech President Václav Klaus.
